Shockwave Therapy (EPAT)

Shockwave Therapy, also known as Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Therapy (EPAT) is one of the most advanced, highly effective, and non-invasive treatment methods cleared by the FDA as a breakthrough treatment  option for a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions. This technology is based on a unique set of pressure waves that stimulate cellular metabolism, enhance blood circulation, and accelerate the healing process. Over time, damaged tissue gradually regenerates and eventually heals.

What disorders can be treated?

Both, acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain conditions that impact mobility or general quality of life, including:

  • Frozen Shoulder
  • Plantar Fascitis
  • Golfers/Tennis Elbow
  • Lumbalgia/Sciatic Pain
  • Cervicalgia/Radiculopathy
  • Shoulder Impingement
  • Tendonopathy/Tenosynovitis
  • Mild/Moderate Rotator Cuff Tears
  • Joint Pain/Inflammation

What are the expected results?

The beneficial effects of Shockwave Therapy (EPAT) are often experienced after only 2-3 treatments. Some patients report immediate pain relief after the first treatment, although it can take up to 4 weeks for pain relief to begin. The procedure works to reduce pain, improve mobility, and initiate regenerative healing. Approximately 80% of patient's treated reported to be pain free and/or have experiencing significant pain reduction.

How much does it cost? Is it covered by insurance?
